Basic Research

UCI's Department of Dermatology faculty members conduct innovative basic research studies.

The cutaneous biology researchers within the department are part of a larger continuum of cutaneous biologists on the faculty of departments across the university. To facilitate collaboration between physician-scientists and basic scientists on campus, the department participates in the UCI Skin Club, a weekly meeting of physicians and biologists across the campus that focus on skin disease.
