UCI Alumni Legacy Fund Page

As an alumnus of our program, you know the important role that a residency or fellowship training program plays in enhancing your career.  Now, you can shape the future of dermatology by helping a new generation of physicians to receive the best education to launch their promising endeavors. Support from alumni like you is vital to our success in preparing future leaders for careers in clinical and academic medicine. By investing in the department, you are enhancing the value and prestige of our programs. We invite you to partner with us as we pave the way for a brilliant future.

Your support can go toward initiatives such as:

Medical Student Research Fellowship
Supporting the medical student research fellowship program will allow the Department of Dermatology to provide a current medical student with in-depth experience in basic science, clinical or translational skin research. The program offers research experience working with Dermatology faculty and allows medical students to gain the skills for a successful career in investigative dermatology. The fellowship is a year-long program, typically completed after a student’s third year of medical school. The goal of the fellowship program is to provide students with the invaluable research experience needed when applying for dermatology residency programs.

Resident Research Program Support
This program provides critical funding for resident research projects and helps expand the department’s ability to award funds to current residents pursuing their research and innovation ideas.

Resident Away Rotations
The Department of Dermatology seeks to offer support to our residents interested in outstanding educational experiences. Away rotations are an excellent opportunity to gain experience in areas that are not a part of the standard curriculum and allow access to all realms of dermatology.

Our residents have completed away rotations around the globe. They gain valuable experience for their subspecialty during these rotations, ranging from one to four weeks. Recent rotations include practicing in underserved communities in Africa for two weeks and studying gynecologic dermatology from a world-renowned expert in England for four weeks.

A donation to this program will enable our department to send residents to away rotations without financial implications.

Physician-Scientist Training Support
Help foster the academic career aspirations of senior residents interested in becoming physician-scientists. Donor support is instrumental in assisting our residents with their progression to junior faculty positions.
